WHY PRESSURE IMPREGNATE? AND NOT USE... COATINGS? OR JUST... THICKER BEAMS?

Pressure impregnation delivers superior fire protection compared to traditional, more simple methods. Let us explain why.

To begin with, vacuum-pressure impregnation should not typically be directly compared with simpler methods of fire retardant treatment of the wood surface such as flow coating, spraying, or dipping.
Vacuum-pressure impregnation adds fire retardant treatment deep into the wood's cellular structure. This means that the board itself constitutes both the surface layer and the cladding without the need for additional protective layers such as fireproofing paint, bringing two distinct advantages:
1. No maintenance2. Deeper protection against fire
The pressure impregnation process ensures there is no oxygen remaining in the wood.
And without oxygen: no fire.
What's more, pressure impregnation allows you to build with lighter beams and structures as the FireSure® technology can protect timber down to 15 mm thickness. In short, you can use less wood in your construction projects, saving you money and our environment.
